The Suncoast Primate Sanctuary |
|||
The Suncoast Primate Sanctuary Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit animal sanctuary dedicated to zoological education and the care of aging and abused non-human primates. The Suncoast Primate Sanctuary Foundation, Inc. was formed in 2003 after the death of Mae Noell. Robert and Mae Noell operated the Chimp Farm from 1954 until shortly before Mae's death. Bob had passed away previously. The sanctuary remains a retirement home and rescue center for unwanted or abandoned primate pets, research animals and former show animals. Many of these unfortunate creatures had few, if any, viable alternatives to euthanasia. The animals were captive raised so can never be released into the wild |
